One Down

What an amazing week. My first classes are finished and I enjoyed the entire process so much. Even more than I thought I would. What a great group of women. They came from near and far, old friends and new. I was honored to get the chance to spend that time with them. I loved how they fed off one another's creativity and how new friendships were formed over a pile of fabric and trims. I love that they each took the project and made it their own. I love that their creativity was sparked. I love that I am getting a chance to make this dream come true.

I want to share with you part of an email I got from a blog reader, Nanne, that came all the way from Columbus, IN to spend the morning playing. She wrote:
" i just had to tell you that not only did i have a great time at your workshop, i left inspired and with my creativity rejuvenated.  i'm always thinking about projects, planning & researching...but, i get lazy and the projects mostly happen in my head.  being around you and the other compulsively creative girls at the makery get-together has lit a fire under my get-up-and-go and i am ready to get busy!"

That's it! That is the very reason I wanted to do this and the very thing I wanted to accomplish. It makes me happy deep down in my soul and I'm looking forward to more.

My next class will be in March and I will post it here and if you are on the email list you will get the info there first. I also have 3 make that 1 kit left if any of you are interested you can email me at thecottagenest@gmail.com and I will get them in the mail right away.

Also, I pinky promise my next post will in no way have anything to do with The Cottage Nest Makery! I'm starting to get back to regular life and have lots of projects going on. At least one you've likely never considered!

  1. Oh, you inspire me too!

I am the one who wrote that I was planning to teach bookmaking classes after I retire in June. I want to come to take your class, but unfortunately Indiana is a bit too far away.

I have a yearbook deadline at school on March 4 and after that I am going to begin my plan for teaching my class.

  2. i can't think of many things that are more satisfying than baskets of pretty trinkets, sissors, glue, a laid back teacher, great conversation, crumb cake and a couple of stolen hours to spend in the company of makers.

it was more fun than should be allowed...ready for the next makery!! thanks!

  4. Yay! I'm so glad that it went so well & everyone got so much out of it. If only Virginia weren't so far from Indiana!

  6. Soooo thankful for you & the inspiration & talents you share! What a blessed evening it was! Still haven't finished the final touches, but have it hanging up already! Right when she woke up, Camille ran out to look at it hanging (I told her it would be there when leaving for the class)! Excited to attend another cottage nest makery class! :-)
