The News Around Here

This week is so full that I find myself needing to focus on what's immediately ahead of me to keep from getting too overwhelmed. I hate that feeling of working all day but not finishing anything and not being able to actually mark anything off of my to do list. I love a completed task.

I'm so excited for my first class Wednesday. The Thursday evening class still has 3 seats left in it if anyone is interested. There are a few extra kits available for $25 including shipping and available on a first come basis. The kits sold out but if my 2nd class doesn't fill up you can still email me at thecottagenest@gmail.com and I will put you on a waiting list for them! Also, I'm thinking about doing an email/newsletter to keep people updated on class happenings and you can email me if you would like to be added to that. I think I've decided that doing 1 or 2 classes every other month will work better for me. That seems much less consuming and overwhelming to start out with at least while I'm trying to find my groove.

In other news, I've been getting a lot of comments from people asking questions or wanting kits but there is no link to a blog or an email address so I don't have any way to answer you. I've enabled the reply function in the comments sections so now I can come back there and answer you and always feel free to email me if you'd like. I always intend to answer your questions but I honestly just can't keep up with everything some days and an email is often your best bet.

I better run. Today is my Sweet Man's birthday. I made him this carrot cake...our favorite! I can't wait til dinner is over to have a slice. But first there is chicken to be fried and cheddar biscuits to be baked! Yum.

  1. You have inspired me. I am retiring from teaching middle school in June and one of my plans is to teach bookmaking classes. My husband is an artist and one of the galleries he shows in has a spot for teaching. The owners of the gallery are neighbors and I am going to talk to them about teaching the classes. I would love to teach in his studio because all of the supplies are at hand, but we don't have enough space. So I will copy your idea of kids.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

  11. I woke up this morning thinking about you - it's snowing and cozy, and I had a fleeing thought that I wish I lived in the Village and could put on my vintage coat and walk to the coffee shop for lattes and scones. : -) Have a swell day!
