Scenes from Christmas Jubilee 2013

With everything I had going on in the weeks leading up to my Christmas Jubilee, I knew there was no way I could manage a get together like the one I had last year. This year I kept the guest list to 4 including me and everyone brought a dish and a project to share as well as the supplies required to do the project. We also did a handmade gift exchange and passed out each person's gift before starting their project. Above are the gifts waiting their turn to be opened. It kept the suspense and excitement going all night.

Taking a picture of every one taking a pictures of my gift to them.

Since there were only four of us we were able to pretty easily fit in the studio which I think made it more fun. I adore doing projects in the studio with people I love.

This sweet bird was my project. I loved making him and there is no way she is getting packed away with the Christmas decorations at the end of the month.

My friend Sarah brought these houses as our next project. I have yet to finish mine but I'm planning to this Thursday.

I love how the these turned out. Each one unique and charming.

My friend Courtney brought these little boxes with miniature houses. They make such a sweet Village that it made me a little sad to separate them at the end of the night.

Our last project of the night was a Christmas journal kit that my friend Melissa brought. Isn't that packaging the most beautiful thing you've ever seen? She is the master of packaging. Shames this mere mortal every time.

We didn't get this project started until about 10pm and I've yet to finish it either so it looks like a Christmas Jubilee for one this Thursday. This one was made by Courtney.

The party was planned as a slumber party and every one knows it's not a slumber party until girls start doing each others hair. Sadly, every single Momma here had a child that conspired to put an end to that plan. Including mine. You'd be surprised how quickly your guests leave when your daughter comes down with the stomach flu. Or maybe you wouldn't? Poor Melissa was visiting for a few days from Illinois and wasn't able to flee.

It was such a magical night. Four of us cozied up in my favorite space in the world, talking, eating, laughing and working. Memories that will stay with me forever. If you haven't stayed up until 1am tossing glitter around with girlfriends, then friend you don't know what you are missing.

  14. You gals looked like you were having a blast!! What fun! I had my eyes locked on your studio. I have a back bedroom that is my studio. Right now it's a dark, dreary, dump!!! I love your wall color and the way your work space is planned. I like the "L" shape of your tables." I, too, can do that" I said to myself. My one and only window faces east. I need to figure out some overhead light. I have a ceiling fan (need them in TX) with a light but I need something else to give me the light I need. I never make resolutions but I actually have one for the new year. Finish the projects I have started before I go to another one except everything on your blog today I want to do!!!! It should be an interesting year. We'll see how long I last getting caught up. All this to say...you encouraged me this morning to just "do it". Thank you so much. Sharon in Arlington, TX

  17. Oh, how fun!

Are you going to teach any more classes? I have been approached about teaching some at an art gallery, but I have decided to just make things for me and my friends and not teach.

  18. Could you do a tour of your studio setup for this get together? I would love to do one of these, but I'm a bit freaked out about space. I know my room isn't very big, but I'm sure I could fit four in there! I grew up just miles from where you live, and YES, it is gorgeous there! I used to sell real estate there, and now I've moved back to central IN from Ohio. It's so good to be home. Merry Christmas!!
