Since I've been focused on spring cleaning, I thought I would base my Inspiration Friday on that theme. Here is a little know fact about me: I love doing laundry. I love sorting it, washing it, drying it and folding. I'd gladly pay someone else to put it away, but other than that, I have an ongoing affair with laundry day. I'm sure I would love it even more if my laundry room looked anything like these. I hope these pictures inspire you to go do a load!
Those are all SO cute, Jen. I did my laundryroom last year & made it a little showplace, so I really enjoy it a lot. Like another room in the house, so I would encourage everyone to do something cute to their laundryroom. Makes it a lot more fun!

I love these inspiration laundries, Jen! I enjoy all my visits here.
ReplyDeleteI loved your picket fence post, as well. Alsways liked the Father of the Bride house.
I wish "sarahwhite" would do a blog. I see she commented on the picket fences. I think she would do a great blog!

Oh, I wish I had a cute laundry room like those. My washer and dryer are in my garage. It's not exactly cute, but I do have brand new LG front loading washer and dryer. I love them.
ReplyDeleteHappy Laundry!

Maybe if my laundry room looked like the one in your 1st picture, I would mind doing it so much. I have to say...I never really thought much about making the laundy room a show piece. Diffinately something to think about!
ReplyDeleteI love all of those. I actually have the first picture saved. I don't like to do laundry at all but I would still love a lovely laundry room especialy if it had an island for folding.
ReplyDeleteHow did you know I needed laundry inspiration today. I have been doing a laundry marathon.
ReplyDeleteNow, if only I shared your love for laundry.
I love the look of an armoire filled with linens. So pretty...I can't say I like doing laundry though! But there's nothing like the smell of clean laundry....ahh. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Jen,
ReplyDeleteMy blog is all about Laundry. I hate laundry so much I even wrote a whole book about it. Well I should say it inspired me to write a book. But my lesson is that I had to learn to love what I loathed. Anyway...the book is still on the path to publication.
Love your blog...this is my first stop. I'll be back. I'm a cottage lover too.

Jen... you might like to read my other blog of my grandmother's diaries from the 1920's. She was doing laundry the old-fashioned way all the time.

Those photos do inspire me... If only I had space in my little cottage, I also love doing the laundry, and have converted a 1930's wardrobe into a dinky laundry cupboard.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog, it's always so inspirational.

I LOVE the redwork laundry bag - and especially the mannequin in the laundry room! Those are some stunning photos!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos. I think my laundry room needs an update now. I would love to sew that laundry bag too.
ReplyDeleteI just love the third picture...the mannequin at the end just makes you want to walk on in doesn't it? Unfortunately I have a laundry closet, but there's a small opportunity to paint and add a few cute touches! I don't know if I ever told you, but I just love your house!

Beautiful photos~ I have to admit I try to run out of the laundry room as fast I as can after I start a load or pull one out of the dryer! We've just moved and I haven't had time to do anything special in there.
ReplyDeleteIf mine looked like that, maybe I'd linger a little longer!
Thanks for the inspiration!

I have laundry closet, too...in my kitchen. I love the vintage dressform! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteYes I think I would spend more time in one of these rooms too! You may come over and do my laundry anytime! LOL Love your inspirational weekly shots! :)
ReplyDeleteI love doing laundry too! So much so, that when we bought our house 14 years ago, I saw the laundry room and knew this was our house, because the laundry room was so huge!
ReplyDeleteI am planning to paint and decorate it soon... so the inspirational pics were wonderful! Thanks!
those are wonderful laundry rooms...we've converted a seldom used bedroom into my laundry room...I can have my ironing board set up all the time!!!...I really enjoy ironing...I probably iron everyday!!!..you've inspired me to reorganize &...redecorate it!!!..BTW...I washed windows this past weekend!!!...it's so worth it!!..thanks for that little inspiration earlier in the week!!!
ReplyDeleteThose are lovely laundry rooms!
ReplyDeleteI love those laundry rooms. I wish I had a separate room to make cute. My washer & dryer are in my garage. Personally, I don't mind the washing or drying I just hate the folding (esp socks) and putting away. My DH usually does that!

What a stunning post...thanks a million..I am just now sourcing images for inspiration to plan my laundry
ReplyDeleteI love all the pictures!! What an inspiration, thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love this post Jen. I enjoy doing laundry as well but hate putting it away. I have been known to pay the kiddos to do that dreadful chore!
ReplyDeleteI also love to read books on anything to do with laundry/laundry rooms. How sad is that!!?? Cammy
Laundry would be so much more enjoyable ihn one of these rooms...I am inspired to change mine to be a place I want to go!

Hi Jen, I love the inspiration pictures, and I know, with out a doubt that if my laundry room looked like those I would love to do laundry. As it is, even though every part of my house is finished, the laundry room never was - and it's in the basement (which is finished, but not the laundry room). And it's one of those things that sory of overwhelms me - and I think, "I need a professional - can't do this on my own". So I don't like being in there - but your pictures really make me want to make a plan for how to get mine looking so lovely. I too would spend a great amount of time in my laundry room if that was the case. Thank you for getting me thinking.
