Inspiration Friday- Laundry Rooms

Since I've been focused on spring cleaning, I thought I would base my Inspiration Friday on that theme. Here is a little know fact about me: I love doing laundry. I love sorting it, washing it, drying it and folding. I'd gladly pay someone else to put it away, but other than that, I have an ongoing affair with laundry day. I'm sure I would love it even more if my laundry room looked anything like these. I hope these pictures inspire you to go do a load!

  1. Those are all SO cute, Jen. I did my laundryroom last year & made it a little showplace, so I really enjoy it a lot. Like another room in the house, so I would encourage everyone to do something cute to their laundryroom. Makes it a lot more fun!

  2. I love these inspiration laundries, Jen! I enjoy all my visits here.

I loved your picket fence post, as well. Alsways liked the Father of the Bride house.

I wish "sarahwhite" would do a blog. I see she commented on the picket fences. I think she would do a great blog!

  3. Oh, I wish I had a cute laundry room like those. My washer and dryer are in my garage. It's not exactly cute, but I do have brand new LG front loading washer and dryer. I love them.
    Happy Laundry!

  4. Maybe if my laundry room looked like the one in your 1st picture, I would mind doing it so much. I have to say...I never really thought much about making the laundy room a show piece. Diffinately something to think about!

  5. I love all of those. I actually have the first picture saved. I don't like to do laundry at all but I would still love a lovely laundry room especialy if it had an island for folding.

  7. I love the look of an armoire filled with linens. So pretty...I can't say I like doing laundry though! But there's nothing like the smell of clean laundry....ahh. :)

  8. Hey Jen,
My blog is all about Laundry. I hate laundry so much I even wrote a whole book about it. Well I should say it inspired me to write a book. But my lesson is that I had to learn to love what I loathed. Anyway...the book is still on the path to publication.

Love your blog...this is my first stop. I'll be back. I'm a cottage lover too.

  9. Jen... you might like to read my other blog of my grandmother's diaries from the 1920's. She was doing laundry the old-fashioned way all the time.

  11. Those photos do inspire me... If only I had space in my little cottage, I also love doing the laundry, and have converted a 1930's wardrobe into a dinky laundry cupboard.
Love your blog, it's always so inspirational.

  14. I just love the third picture...the mannequin at the end just makes you want to walk on in doesn't it? Unfortunately I have a laundry closet, but there's a small opportunity to paint and add a few cute touches! I don't know if I ever told you, but I just love your house!

  15. Beautiful photos~ I have to admit I try to run out of the laundry room as fast I as can after I start a load or pull one out of the dryer! We've just moved and I haven't had time to do anything special in there.

If mine looked like that, maybe I'd linger a little longer!

    Thanks for the inspiration!

  18. I love doing laundry too! So much so, that when we bought our house 14 years ago, I saw the laundry room and knew this was our house, because the laundry room was so huge!
I am planning to paint and decorate it soon... so the inspirational pics were wonderful! Thanks!

  20. I love those laundry rooms. I wish I had a separate room to make cute. My washer & dryer are in my garage. Personally, I don't mind the washing or drying I just hate the folding (esp socks) and putting away. My DH usually does that!

  23. I love this post Jen. I enjoy doing laundry as well but hate putting it away. I have been known to pay the kiddos to do that dreadful chore!

I also love to read books on anything to do with laundry/laundry rooms. How sad is that!!?? Cammy

  25. Hi Jen, I love the inspiration pictures, and I know, with out a doubt that if my laundry room looked like those I would love to do laundry. As it is, even though every part of my house is finished, the laundry room never was - and it's in the basement (which is finished, but not the laundry room). And it's one of those things that sory of overwhelms me - and I think, "I need a professional - can't do this on my own". So I don't like being in there - but your pictures really make me want to make a plan for how to get mine looking so lovely. I too would spend a great amount of time in my laundry room if that was the case. Thank you for getting me thinking.
