Today marks the start of Emma's Fall Break. With Emma in a different school district than Maddie, it's difficult to schedule trips but makes for some great time spent alone with each girl. Of course to Maddie that meant sleeping in and hanging out with her friends. Not really good quality bonding. But for Emma that means Mommy/Emma days. Mommy/Emma days are one of Emma's favorite things in this world since she was tiny. She cherishes her time alone with me. I take advantage of it because I know, this too shall pass. This week we will be sleeping in, playing games, reading, cooking, antiquing, watching movies and playing in the leaves. I know you think this sounds like my idea of a good time but you will be surprised to learn that it is actually Emma's idea of a good time too. Sigh. I am such a lucky woman.
We finished Fall break last week - it was wonderful. Yours sounds great!
ReplyDeleteThat girl is amazing! I need to send Ruby down to be instructed by her on the ways of the world - asap!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fantastic Fall break.
You better get rested up, though... ;)
You ARE lucky. Sounds like a perfect week!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter was sick the other day and had to come home from school early. We watched 'Roman Holiday' together. It was fun. AND she's almost 15. She still likes to hang out, so that's nice.
I love that Emma loves to do the same things as you. Enjoy your mommy/emma time- everything sounds like great fun!

Your post reminds me of a Christmas break spent with my youngest daughter baking cookies and watching movies together. She is now grown with a little one of her own.
