From the Bookshelf

I don't have a lot of time to read these days but I can still manage to spend a little time flipping pages and dreaming. I love this new Cottage Style magazine. Not cheap at $10 but Costco has it 30% off. I'm savoring every page.

This book is absolutely swoony. I had my library order it and it went right to the top of my wish list.

I love Atlanta Bartlett and I enjoyed this book, maybe not as much as At Home with White which is also at the top of my wish list, but it's a good book.

I loved this book. I also love the first one Swedish Interiors. Gettin' in touch with those Swedish roots I reckon. I even sound like I'm Swedish, don't I?

And just in case you think I just love everything and don't have a discriminating bone in my body, I'll tell you that I didn't care for this book. At all. I was hoping for an entire book that made me feel all warm and cozy the way the cottage from The Holiday did. Nope. Nada. Nothing. Maybe it's just me but this one fell flat.

I hope you can take some time to get cozy and read too.

  2. I'm picking up Cottage Style on Saturday. Can't wait. And isn't The Holiday a great movie? Just watched it again this last weekend. Loved the cottage and the music. Still not totally sold on Jack Black in that role, but Jude more than made up for it!

  3. I haven't had time to read much lately either, but I saw that Cottage Style magazine last night at Lowe's and almost grabbed it. Now I'm kicking myself for not getting it! Too bad about the one English Cottage book, I've seen that one several times before and thought about ordering it, glad I didn't. I'll wait and flip through it in person before I invest in something I may not like.

  13. I am reading costco book, though not that frequent. Reading books about style and fashion would help you to be aware of the new decor, style, designs, appliances. Especially when you are refurnishing your home, this book is a great guide to pick what is best.

  19. My husband and I were at Barnes and Noble a couple weeks ago browsing decor books, and I ended up picking up that Cottage Style magazine instead. My husband was surprised and wondered "your only getting a magazine?" Of course I replied "this isn't just any magazine. This is Cottage Style magazine." I already had another edition of Cottage Style, and I LOVE it! Isn't it just full of so many beautiful homes and ideas?

  20. Oh I definitely MUST check this magazine (Cottage Style) out! Thanks so much for sharing about it. This is a new one to me. :) Have you ever read the Fresh Home magazine? This is one of my favorites, and it is just getting better and better. Sometimes the rooms they feature can be a bit too modern for me, but I can totally overlook that because it's such a good magazine! Well now, I guess I left you with a review of my own! :) I hope you are doing well and that you have a good night!

    Blessings,
    Jenni
